From Water RefLection

Photo Exhibition

-Visions from water reflection
During recent years, Morishima has been intrigued by reflections in water surfaces and continuously photographed these. When these virtual images reflected in water surfaces are being caught in photographs, these will generate different types of real images. Morishima does not intend to grasp these images as sceneries. Creating a sense of floating by turning the photo upside down and inverting the image from left to right, he produces images like abstract paintings where the natural and the artificial seem to merge. In this exhibition in a 130-year-old Kyoto machiya, enlarged photos from water surfaces bring forth a space where a specific kind of conversion and harmony can be found between visual images and real images.
